- The Psalms offer us images and poetry to portray Biblical truth. Are these promises that God is our “refuge” and our “fortress” reassuring to you? Have you experienced God’s protection when you were in harm’s way – either physically or emotionally? If so, did you create a reminder of this experience for future reflection?
- Has it been your experience that you often hear Christians talk about spiritual issues, but rarely about injustice or meeting the basic human needs of the vulnerable in our society? Think of ways in which we can communicate both the spiritual and physical healing promised by the Prince of Peace.
- Have you sought peace and tranquility in your life? When have you been most “at peace”? Why? Are there “take-aways” from your experiences?
- The connection between peace and good health that is discussed in the Bible maybe a surprise for many of us. Has this connection occurred to you? Do you “sleep in peace”?
- Being anxious or worried about our lives, our future, our family and children is a common struggle for most of us. How does the Apostle Paul’s instructions to think about things that are true, noble, pure, lovely and admirable help us? What does it imply about avoiding the opposites of these qualities?
