This is a small but important piece for your classic 1964-1972 GM A-Body muscle car—think Chevelle, GTO, Cutlass, Skylark, Tempest, and others. It's the rubber pinion bump stop that mounts on the rear frame. Its job is to limit the upward travel of the differential/rear end under hard acceleration, preventing metal-to-metal contact and vibration. Over time, these old rubber pieces crack and fall apart. This is a brand new, correct reproduction from The Parts Place, part number SU2284Z. Sold individually. Easy to install with a basic wrench. If you're restoring your classic or just fixing a worn-out part, this little bump stop helps keep your rear suspension quiet and properly aligned. A cheap piece of insurance for your valuable ride.
